"Experts"

Today as I was shoveling, feeding, grooming, and maybe sneaking in a ride I thought of "horse" people and I sighed.  Why are there so many"experts" in the field of horses?  When I grew up it was much more simple.  One got a horse, they fed the horse, they rode the horse.  Oh sure, there were lessons, things to learn, areas to grow.  Now however everyone thinks they know best.  Horses must be stalled, they must not, horses must eat alfalfa, they must not, horses must be whispered to.  Horse people know best.  Horsies as I like to call them will quickly tell you what you are doing wrong, even though they will never look at their own shadow.  Let's see, my horse is to fat, he is too indulged, every nip he takes is my fault too!  It appears while I love horses I am growing not to fond of horsies!  So, today, bright and sunny, I will go out and make all my mistakes and take my "mistreated" horse down the trail.  We sill stop in the sun, stop to look at birds, stop to marvel at trees on the trail.  Then, tonight, I will give my horse a brushing while he is eating his questionable dinner.  We will have a conversation about the day and I will tuck him in, he will sigh as I close the barn door.  To many I have done so much wrong, but I think he and I will survive for another ride, or three, even without reading the book of horse !
